Web Site Design Elements You Should Know
March 9th, 2008 Posted in Designing Your Site To Be Search Engine FriendlyA search engine friendly web site design is one of the most important things you’ll need to consider for your business. There are many elements that go into a web site design that search engines will love. Among them are:
- Great title tags
- Your web site description tag
- Keyword tags are not extremely important, but are somewhat important
- Great content - content is very important
- Keywords
- H1, H2, and H3 tags
- Photo and video optimization
- Internal link structure
- Header and footer information
- Local information such as address and phone number if your tourism business is locally focused
- Common misspellings
- Design techniques such as tables, frames, CSS, and code-to-text ratio
Before you spend too much money on a web site that will not rank you in the search engines, you should talk to a search engine optimization expert and learn how to optimize your web site properly so that you don’t have to spend thousands more on redesign to fix what never should have been broken.
