Podcasting Is Marketing For The 21st Century
April 21st, 2008 Posted in PodcastingPodcasting is really very easy. All you need is a small digital recorder and some audio editing software, or a computer and a microphone with editing software. If you have a laptop then you can get a $20 microphone at your local electronics store and download the editing software for free online. A little program called Audacity can help you edit the audio files and get them ready for distribution.
So what do you do after you get the equipment? Well, first, you have to record your audio presentation. Try to keep it short. You can do a full 30 minute show, but you have to keep people’s interest for that full 30 minutes. It is best to keep it to no longer than two or three minutes on your first recording so that you can learn the basics and train yourself to keep your audience captivated. After you’ve done that then you can record longer recordings.
Be sure to talk clearly when you record your podcasts. You want your listeners to understand every word. If you have problems annunciating or speaking loudly enough to be heard, you should hire a professional to do it for you.
Next, after the recording is finished, you’ll need to distribute your podcast. You can upload it to your own website, but you should also distribute it online to several podcast directories. And that’s about all there is to it.
