RSS Saves The Day
April 17th, 2008 Posted in Really Simple SyndicationBefore Really Simple Syndication, webmasters had to rely solely on SEO and word-of-mouth techniques to get people to read their content. RSS changed all of that. Now, you can have your content read daily be eager readers looking forward to your content reaching them by e-mail or through their news readers. And it’s all free!
Whenever a web searcher finds your blog or web site, if they see the big orange RSS button, or a strip that says “subscribe” then all they have to do is click and your content is transported to their reading tool within minutes, sometimes seconds. That’s powerful publishing!
The beautiful thing about RSS is that it really is simple and it really is free. You can take a web page or a series of web pages and convert them to RSS so quickly and easily that you’d think it was handed to you on a silver platter. In truth, it really is. Whether you are publishing text, audio, or video, your RSS feed will be read, heard, or watched within minutes. And you don’t need a degree in rocket science to do it!
