Why Are Repeat Visits Important?
May 9th, 2008 Posted in Web Site Elements That Keep Them Coming BackWhy do you want to encourage repeat visits to your tourism web site? Well, for starters, if you have visitors that keep coming back over and over again then you know they have an interest in your product or service. But there’s really more to it than that.
Repeat visitors to your web site do several things:
- Reinforces your brand in their mind’s eye
- Builds community (people do business with those they know and trust)
- They’re more likely to give you their e-mail address
- They’ll tell others about you
- You’ll be first on their mind when they are looking for what you have to offer
Those are pretty good reasons for wanting people to come back more and more often. If someone just stops by your web site and never returns then they may not be back. That’s a sale forever lost. But if they come back two or three times a month and don’t make a purchase then they are more likely to make a purchase the next time they return.
It’s a well-known marketing principle that people need to see an offer 7 times before they make a purchase. Make it easy for them to purchase by building community and providing features on your web site that encourage them to return.
