Can You Force Viral Marketing To Take Hold?

Viral marketing is effective because it turns your customers into evangelists for your business. They will willingly tell others about you and help you market your business. And viral marketing is highly recommended because it means less work for you, but how do you get your customers to talk about you?

Well, you can’t force them to do it. You can’t hold a gun to people’s heads and make them talk to their friends. But you can entice them. And that’s what viral marketing really is. It’s enticing your customers to tell their friends about you. How do you do that?

Viral marketing gets its power from making an offer so attractive that it is hard to pass up, and providing more value in that offer than was ever expected. Offering a free gift is one way to get people to talk about you and as long as your free offer delivers more value than the recipient ever expected then they will talk it up to their friends.

Even if you provide high value for little or no cost, you still have to get the people to your web site to experience it. That means you have to market your offer. Drive traffic. That takes time and resources, but if you are willing to do the promotion then it can pay off in the long run. When you do viral marketing the right way then you’ll have people beating down your door to get your offers.
