Winning Awards Can Impress Site Visitors
April 5th, 2008 Posted in Winning Awards, Cool Sites, and MoreWhen a visitor to your web site sees a banner or icon that says you won an award, your credibility and image in their eyes gets a big boost. People like to do business with winners. That’s why winning an award can help you in so many ways, even small ones. There is just something impressive about winning and displaying awards on your company web site.
It doesn’t have to be an industry award either. Sure, winning an award from a tourism-related organization or displaying an icon for a tourism award can be exciting for your business. Those will likely mean more to you than to your customers. Other awards, non-industry awards, web site excellent awards, keys to the city, and other such “community-oriented” awards can often be much more exciting and rewarding for your web site.
When a site visitor sees that you are recognized by people outside of your industry for your achievements then that is a different thing altogether. But even if you don’t win, just being nominated for an award is an honor. But you have to enter the competition, so take some time out each month to scour contests that you’d like to enter and win. Don’t spend all of your time doing this, of course, but take some time out, maybe a couple of hours each week or month, and submit your web site to awards competitions. Then forget about them. If you win then you’ll have bragging rights and that’s the real trophy.
